[Role and responsibilities (Job Mission)]
As part of Corporate Real Estate (CRE) team, the EHS Specialist will be responsible to manage the Environment, Health and Safety across the CRE Korea/Japan region. It would be mainly focused on the Occupational Safety and Environment in ASML owned facilities including manufacturing site, cleanrooms and project sites. EHS Specialist’s core task is to optimize the operation to comply with the local regulations and ASML EHS guidelines.
In collaboration with the procurement & sourcing team, ensures the necessary capacity and capabilities in the supplier base and monitor their performance. (S)He drives continuous improvements with the suppliers. (S)He defines budgets, create forecasts and approve expense. Focus on the financial- & performance management, and contract development.
EHS Specialist is responsible for the establishment of the EHS Management system, also defines the Health and Safety coordination of the project portfolios ensuring compliance. (S)he manages a portfolio of studies that originate from operational disturbances or incidents where proper preventive actions need to be investigated and defined, and works closely with the Hard Service, Soft Service and Project Management team to optimize the execution of planned operation activities without effecting business continuity.
As part of the team, (s)he will contribute to continuously improve the EHS management standards and procedures. And (s)he will report to the CRE global region(Korea and Japan) management.
[Job Task]
• Establish and maintain the EHS Management system in Korea/Japan region
- Implement and maintain the process/procedures(L4 – L5) and streamline the applicable methods/protocols used in the field(ASML premises, construction sites, field offices, etc.)
- Manage, monitor and maintain the required operation permits of CRE activities
- Ensuring a high quality of EHS advice to the team to mitigate the potential risks in the technical competence areas(e.g electrical safety, hazardous materials, ergonomics, waste, energy, CO2 emissions, Life Cycle Assessment, etc.)
- Manage the incident reporting procedures(e.g incident investigations, risk ranking, improvement action support, etc.)
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans
- Act as an EHS SPOC in construction projects from design phase to execution phase to mitigate the risks
• Ensure the EHS Compliance and data reporting
- Ensure compliance with ISO 14001, local environmental, safety and health laws and corporate EHS standards
- Conduct the inspection and find the opportunity for improvement to mitigate the risks in the workplace
- Own the EHS KPIs in the region to issue the EHS performance management review
- Perform the EHS pre-qualification assessment on contractors
• Conduct the Risk Assessment and establish the mitigation plans
- Assess risks associated with the team before/after the implementation
- Perform qualitative and quantitative risk assessment to evaluate the likelihood and impact of hazards
- Propose control measures using the hierarchy of controls
- Work with Hard Service, Soft Service team to implement safety solutions
• Develop and implement environmental procedures and sustainability programs
- Conduct environmental impact assessments to evaluate the effects of operations
- Oversee waste management, hazardous material handling and pollution prevention programs
- Monitor and report on energy usage, carbon footprint, water consumption and emissions to support sustainability goals
- Coordinate with external agencies for environmental permits, audits and regulatory compliance reporting
• Improve EHS culture awareness and support trainings
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs on ASML EHS standards to CRE employees and contractors
- Conduct EHS campaigns to enhance employee engagement in safety and environmental concerns
- Ensure that CRE employees understand reporting procedures for hazards, near misses, and environmental issues
