Thales Engineering Competence Centre (ECC) is a well-established R&D and engineering centre serving major customers worldwide in Digital Identity and Security domains ranging from mobile connectivity, IoT, banking & payment to government solutions. As a Senior Software Engineer in Thales Embedded Product Development Team in ECC (Korea office), you will participate in the design, implementation, validation and deployment of Embedded Products for major smartphone vendors.

· Located in Korea, the candidate will be reporting to the Embedded software maintenance and support team manager, with the core team located in Singapore. · Expected to work closely with local customer and front-end team, to provide responsive support to customer requests in solving technical issues and answering technical enquires. · Develop, validate and deploy software components (for example advance software security mechanism and next generation connectivity protocols) for embedded operating systems targeted for mobile devices, in applications such as mobile payment, digital identity and mobile connectivity · Participate to the development of next generation operating systems for future devices · Being in agile development environment to work closely within team and multiple teams around the world to build great products exceeding customer expectations · Contribute to continuous product and development methodology improvement · Extensive training on the product, software and process will be provided. You are expected to travel to Singapore multiple times in extended periods to attend trainings and work with Singapore R&D teams.

· Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering, or related fields · Minimum 10 years working experience in software development, with strong problem solving and debugging skills. Proficient in Embedded C/Java programming languages. · Professional experience within embedded software development area · Knowledge and experience in embedded technologies/ecosystem, for example: o Microcontroller programming o Low level protocols like SPI, UART, I2C o Device driver programming · Experience in testing and debugging embedded devices using dedicated emulators or simulators · Excellent front end customer support experience with presentation and problem solving activities at customer premise. · Fluent communication skills in both English and Korean. · Team player with good communications and collaborative skills, ability to work independently and being proactive.

· Knowledge in smartcard, embedded software security or Javacard is a plus · Knowledge of embedded technologies/ecosystem, software security or Javacard knowledge is a plus
